God is looking for people to strengthen

I cannot say enough about forming a regular time to be alone with God in prayer. It is in secret prayer (being alone with God and reading His Word) that the Holy Spirit communicates to us and cultivates in us confidence, joy and peace. Every significant thing I have seen God do has been born in prayer, for prayer is where the Holy Spirit invites us to partner with Him.

2 Chronicles 16:9 says,

“For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.”

In this verse, I find a very simple promise. This promise stirs my faith and assures me that God, is actively looking for people. This scripture shows us, that God is looking at your continent, your country, your city and your community to strengthen anyone’s heart that is fully committed to Him. He isn’t concerned about their age, education, money, title or where they live. He wants to strengthen people who are fully committed to Him! A promise like this often confronts and convicts (to remove) our unbelief and doubts by revealing God’s willingness to act on our behalf. This promise roars, God will strengthen (meet, speak, encounter) when we commit ourselves to Him.

Henry Varley, deeply impacted D.L Moody when he said, “The world has yet to see what God can do with and for and through and in a man who is fully and wholly consecrated to Him.” D.L. Moody said in response, “By God’s help, I aim to be that man.”

There is no greater way to commit oneself to the Lord but in prayer. Personally, when alone with God’s Word in prayer, I have found the vast treasuries of God’s promises, power and wisdom hidden in Christ. In secret prayer, I have gained His counsel, His conviction, His discipline and His learned of His righteousness. I have found God, is generously giving to those who ask. He is freely speaking and is actively looking to strengthen me in Christ. God’s goodness triumphs over my unbelief and erodes my doubt. His goodness renews my heart trains me to hear His voice and swallows up every lie spoken from the enemy.

Will you be committed to the Lord in prayer? The world is waiting to see what God can do in, and through, and with, and for a person wholly consecrated to Him.

If we could but glimpse what happens and is possible in prayer, the nations would sing the praise of Jesus Christ.

Attached is a useful download for developing a daily time with Jesus. My prayer is that you would be strengthened by God and fully committed to Him.

Here are some other D.L Moody quotes from his book Prevailing Prayer.

“seek by prayer to move the Arm that moves the world.”

“So all through the Scriptures you will find that when believing prayer went up to God, the answer came down.”

“If our spiritually dead ones are to be raised, we must first get power with God. The reason we so often fail in moving our fellowmen is that we try to win them without first getting power with God. Jesus was in communion with His Father, and so He could be assured that His prayers were heard.”

“If we pray without reading the Word, we shall be ignorant of the mind and will of God, and become mystical and fanatical, and liable to be blown about by every wind of doctrine.”

“THOSE WHO HAVE LEFT the deepest impression on this sin-cursed earth have been men and women of prayer.”
