“Who is on your list?”

I am the product of prayer. After I decided to follow Christ, I began volunteering at a local Youth for Christ ministry centre in Ontario, Canada. While volunteering, I began to read over previous ministry logs and reports. These reports also had past prayer requests. My name was written into the prayer request section for months. As I looked back on these logs one thing was certain, people had prayed for me.

Torrey Johnson shares a similar story in which a group of people added his name to a list and began praying for him. He later became a Christian and, later still, founded Youth for Christ. I would love to propose that all of us share similar stories. I believe that all of us are the fruit of people’s prayers (initiated by the Holy Spirit) being made on our behalf. Like John Wesley said, “God does nothing but in response to prayer.” God’s activity and us receiving/understanding the Gospel does not happen outside of people praying for us.

Who is on your list?

Who are you praying for? Who is the Holy Spirit inviting you to pray for? I want to invite you on May 1st, during our Youth for Christ global day of prayer and fasting to make a list (even if it’s a list of one person) and begin praying for those individuals. I would call you to pray for them until they receive and understand the Gospel. We as Youth for Christ have been given the extreme privilege to pray for today’s teenagers, that they may find life in Christ. Join me in prayer and fasting for the world’s teenagers!

Below are some other ideas to help you craft your day in prayer and fasting.
