Prayer and an image of Heaven

How prayer transforms us, our homes and countries.

Imagine with me, the Almighty God says to Michael, the angel,

Today is the day that Youth for Christ missionaries will go and evangelise at that school. I have prepared those students to receive the Good News of Christ. It is a celebration day here in Heaven, because many of them will surrender their lives to My Love and will receive Salvation by the sacrifice of Jesus, My Son.

“Michael, go and protect the Youth for Christ staff. They are leaving their homes right now and going to the school I told you about. After all, a group of mothers’ prayers have been coming to My Throne of Grace.  These prayers are for their children, others’ children and their own country. Their prayers will receive mercy and grace. There are thousands of mothers praying around the world. As they cry out to me, I will hear them. Just as My Son said, ‘If two of you on Earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for My Father in Heaven’ (Matthew 18:19). Even more if there are over 100,000 women praying for the same specific subject!”

I do believe this scene happens day by day in Heaven. Our God acts for youth in response to mothers’ prayers. Mothers who pray for their children, and are also praying for the youth of their countries. Daily, they cry out to the Lord, our Heavenly Father.

These mothers, who are called “Deborahs,” everyday kneel before the Father, praying that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen their children with power in their inner being (Ephesians 3:16). They also ask that youth can be reached by God’s grace, so Christ may dwell in their hearts through faith (Ephesians 3:17), and they may be healed emotionally and physically, and making them completely free from evil.

This movement of praying mothers has been happening for over twenty years. Mothers who dedicate their time and pour out their hearts to the Lord. This is a kind of passionate love that draws the love of God to reach another lost young person.

I’m privileged to work with the mobilization and planting of new “WakeUp Deborah” ministries. It is a volunteer role to mobilize and organize “moms” to pray for their biological, adopted and spiritual children. Daily, these mothers are encouraged to pray for 15 minutes. The scene I mentioned earlier about God and the angel Michael, becomes true when these Deborahs pray for the lost.

Moms of WakeUp Deborah have been supporting Youth for Christ activities in different places around the world. They pray for the events, pray with and for Youth for Christ leadership, and pray for those young people who make their decision to follow Christ, asking God that they may be rooted and established in love (Ephesians 3: 17b). In short, they participate with Youth for Christ in their prayers and their presence during Youth for Christ events.

“It’s amazing to know there is continuous and uninterrupted prayer for us before our God,” a Youth for Christ leader commented.

When one prays on behalf of another, they cannot help but be changed. Prayer changes us, for in it we discover the very heart of God and join Him in His work.

Our call is to persevere in prayer for youth and never lose confidence in God’s power that every youth would experience the salvation of Jesus! Prayer moves God’s hand in favour of lost youth.

Join us every day in 15 minutes of prayer, which will make a great difference for eternity. God has spread this ministry around the world, because the souls of our children and youth can not wait anymore.

This ministry was born in Brazil, and now it has spread to over 50 countries. If you wish to know more about WakeUp Deborah, check out the following websites:
