With the launch of our new YFCI website, ePray has returned with a new look! We have crafted ePray to draw you into spiritual transformation, while mobilizing prayer for every young person! With this new look be sure to email [email protected] if you have any questions or find any inconsistencies.
Today as we revisit the ministry of prayer and ePray, I want to remind you of God’s ultimate mission for your life. From the creation narrative found in Genesis, we understand that God’s desire was to create people in His likeness (Genesis 1:26). God creating us to share His likeness reveals his relational intent. He desires to be known by us and for us to be fully known by Him (1 Corinthians 8:3). God’s ultimate mission for your life is to conform you into the image of His Son, Jesus. In Romans 8:29 it says,
“For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son…”
Through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, we have been brought back into relationship with God! Jesus has made God known to us! Johns Gospel reads in chapter 1, verse 18, “No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.” Through the work and person of Jesus, we again can draw close to God with a clean conscience and sincere heart (Hebrews 10:19-23). In Christ, we are invited to know our Heavenly Father in the same way Jesus knew Him. This is what Jesus bled and died for; that the entire human race (and every young person) would know the Father, and be conformed into the image of the Son.
God’s ultimate mission for your life is to see you fully identified in His Son. Jesus, has become for us the perfect example of what is available to us in relationship with God. He caused us to be born of God (1 John 2:29 & 3:1-3) and by His Spirit we are to walk in the same way He walked (1 John 2:6). Jesus perfectly identifies and represents you before the Father so that you may perfectly identify and represent Him on earth (John 20:21-22). We as His followers have been sent as He was sent. As Youth for Christ, we have been sent so that every young person may know Him!
I want to invite you to surrender and yield to the Holy Spirit’s presence and work in your life. My prayer for you is that the Holy Spirit would conform you in Christ, that we may share in both His purity and purpose to seek and save the lost.
